San Diego Zoo
We decided it was important to take Laila on one last big adventure as an only child, so we headed down to the San Diego Zoo today. Despite the weather report, it ended up being a perfect day to be at the zoo, and we had an absolute blast. The monkeys were a clear favorite for Laila but she loved seeing the giraffes, elephants and kangaroos too. Daddy even bought her a pet giraffe on our way out - Laila wanted to name it Hippo (which I thought was awesome), but Daddy decided her name would be Amiga. We weren't sure if Laila would really be old enough to enjoy herself and understand everything that she would be seeing, but she really was. She loved running around and seeing all of the different animals and kept saying "more animals" every time we would leave an exhibit to find another one. The rest of this post is picture heavy, but that's what happens when you have an awesome camera with a huge zoom lens :)

I loved the hippo pics. Derek loves monkeys too! What a great family adventure!! Laila looks like she loved it. She is going to be such a great Big Sister!

when i went to the san diego zoo in college we saw a camel orgy. three camels doing exactly what those polar bears are up to.

What a great day at the Zoo. Love all the pics. Laila was really strutting her stuff next to daddy.
