I realized this morning that today marks 35 weeks pregnant and 35 days until my due date. I had remembered doing a post on this with Laila so I went back to read it and found it so fun to reminisce about how I was feeling and what I was doing back then at that stage of my first pregnancy. It's so different from now! You can read that post here.
We haven't been to any birthing classes, haven't opened the book on baby's development and haven't had too much to do to prepare for her arrival. We do have her nursery all set up and all of the baby clothes ready to go, and the double BOB jogger is en route (thanks to a super generous Grandy and DeeDee!). Other than that, there hasn't been much preparation. I don't have many fears or any anxiety about this one coming...just excitement to meet her...and have her out of my belly! We do have a name finally picked out but are trying to keep it a secret for as long as we can. We'll see if we can make it to her birthday!
Baby is definitely getting bigger by the day and I do have to reposition a lot in order to stay comfortable. I haven't felt any hiccups with this one yet like I did constantly with Laila. We have our next checkup on Wednesday but baby was already head down 2 appointments ago, so hopefully she has stayed that way. Given how I am feeling kicks, it seems like she still is. We are down to weekly appointments now and will probably have another ultrasound in a week or so to check on baby's progress again because of the marginal cord insertion.
We are anxiously awaiting the new little one's arrival but also trying to relish the time we have left as a family of three with our first little bug. She is so much fun right now and she has us smiling and laughing constantly. She has a sense of humor that I didn't know 19.5 month olds could possess. She is starting to sing a little bit and knows how to count to 10 (usually skipping 9 for some reason). She plays by herself quite a bit and you can tell she is developing quite an imagination. She likes to make us tea and soup in her kitchen, and often you can just hear her talking to herself and babbling. She loves to narrate her day and will often tell me everything she is seeing in the car, or in the evening will recount the happenings of the day to dada. Her recollection is also something that has been surprising to see. She has an amazing memory. You can tell her something once and she'll repeat it the next day, or, for example, we saw a big dog in a park while driving to run errands the other day. She saw this dog for all of 2 seconds, but then an hour later as we were driving home, she says out of the blue, "dog!" "park!" and i asked her what color the dog was and she said "beige!" (it was a whitish-yellow labradoodle). Things like that always surprise me. Or when I put her to bed at night I tell her what we are going to do or who we are going to see the next day, and she wakes up the next morning spouting details in her crib about what I told her the night before.
We are excited for Laila to become a big sister and a helper to me. I really think she will be a great older sibling and will teach her little sister a lot. She is excited to meet her. We keep telling her that when baby comes out of mommy's tummy the baby is going to give her a present. She likes this idea a lot :)
So, 35/35 it is. I'm hoping less but this baby will come when she's ready! We can't wait to meet you little one.
