checking in with baby #2

Yesterday I had what will probably be my final ultrasound to check on baby's growth due to her marginal cord insertion. We are happy to say that baby is still ahead of schedule and weighing in at approximately 7lb9oz at 36 weeks and 2 days.  The ultrasound tech said that she will probably gain another pound or so in the next few weeks so she'll be around 8.5 when she's born. Laila was 8.2 so that makes sense. We are so thankful that the potential issues caused by marginal cord insertions have not affected our little girl in any way.

looking at you - her eye looks open but doc says it's not
not a great profile shot, but it's the best one we got.

Baby is still head down and should stay that way at this point, which is great news, and my amniotic fluid levels are still looking great. We will have weekly appointments every Monday from now until she is born, so hopefully just 3 more. Counting down the days now!

One precious thing is that we pray with Laila every night before bed and we always ask her who she wants to pray for. Lately her answer has been her baby sister, which I just think is so sweet. We have started getting out the infant stuff like activity mat, bouncer, and set up her swing, and we tell Laila they are for her baby sister when she comes out of mommy's belly.  We think she's really starting to understand that another little person is going to be here soon, and she seems excited about the prospect.
belly felt huge today so took a random photo of it.

We are so pleased about Baby Vataha's progress. It won't be long before we can see real pictures, and hold her in our arms.

I am sure Laila,s prayers make Jesus smile, and will answer her prayers.

Laila will be an amazing big sister - she can teach baby v all about Abby Dabby, The three little piggies, and where Jesus lives :)
