Sweet Sixteen

Baby received this note from my mom in honor of his/her sweet sixteen today:

Destination: Maternity

The time has come...I feel like my belly has been growing daily so I felt it was time to make my first venture into maternity clothes shopping. I don't really need to wear anything maternity yet, but clothes are getting tight so I wanted to be prepared for when I do.

Also, the hubs and I are going to Maui in two weeks and I felt the need for a new tankini or two, since I am not feeling comfortable wearing any of my itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikinis anymore :)

We found the following suits here, and I love them! I even got to try them on with a fake 9 month bump and it was just surreal that I will be that big someday! FYI the photos are from the website, not of me.

Mi madre and I also did some good shopping here. They had some great deals and I got some classic items that will last for a while.

Sorry this is a boring post but it's a milestone for me so it's going to be blogged about!

Doctor Time

Today we had our monthly checkup and all went well. The nurse found Baby's heartbeat in all of .2 seconds which helped us breathe a sigh of relief at the very beginning of the appointment.

Nothing too eventful happened - my blood pressure is good, I've gained 2 lbs since last month, and Baby's heartbeat is strong. We were able to meet our actual doctor for the first time and she seems great. We got to ask her a lot of questions and she even decided to change my due date to 2 days earlier - so it's now officially August 12 instead of the 14th. Yay! I get to skip 2 days ahead today!

It was also very exciting to be able to schedule our 20 week appointment, where we will get to have another ultrasound and find out the gender of the baby. One month countdown here we go!

Where's My Wife?

Ever since the first day I have known Heather she has HATED any kind of fruity gum. So the other day Heather bought watermelon gum and you can understand my shock when she chewed it and liked it. Strange how pregnancy changes everything we thought we knew about our spouse. If she starts watching soccer, eats celery, adds coconut flavor to meals, listens to Metallica, and cancels her US Weekly subscription I'll really get nervous.

Belly Bump

Collin said he is starting to notice my bump now so I figured it was time for a bump photo. This was taken today at 14 weeks and 3 days. Clothes are starting to feel tight but I haven't grown out of them yet. Yoga pants and a tank is the outfit of choice these days! We have our next check up on Monday so will post an update again then.

Week 15 Fruit

Bouncing Baby

Today we had our 13 week ultrasound to check on the baby and make sure he/she is developing correctly and there are no "markers" for any genetic problems. Baby came out with a clean bill of health and is measuring a week ahead of schedule (13w/1d) which shows a strong growth pattern! It was so much fun to see and hear its little heart beating so fast and to see it bouncing around, flailing its arms and legs and even sucking its thumb. I can't believe how much our little one has developed in such a short amount of time.

The best part of the visit was at the end, when the ultrasound technician handed us a DVD of the whole visit! Here is a short clip of our bouncing baby for you to enjoy :)
