No longer a teenager...20 MONTHS!

Laila is 20 months old today
and she has us laughing all day long.

Some "Laila-isms" as of late:
  •  if she drops something, she says "uh oh cheerio"
  • she can count to 10, and now includes 9!
  • she is now speaking in 3-4 word combinations/sentences
  • we haven't worked much on potty training, but she does come tell me if she has a #2 and says "change!"
  • she says our prayer at dinner time, "dear jesus, thank you for our food, amen"with some guiding from collin or me.
  • is getting good at imitating and singing - she will repeat pretty much anything you tell her to say
  • when we're ready to go somewhere, she says "c'mon! c'mon! ready to go!"
  • is starting to understand talking on the phone, and will say hi and bye to people and answer questions if asked
  • her favorite food right now is shredded cheese, which she asks for by name at every meal. It comes out sounding like "freddy cheese"
  • she has started a phase where she hits herself in the face if she gets upset. we are trying to ignore it and hoping it goes away soon
  • she also has started hitting us if she gets mad. it unfortunately has become somewhat of a game to her, because any time she hits us, we make her say sorry and give us a hug and that is now what she does. she will hit and then immediately smile, say sorry and hug us
  • she is obsessed with the owls living in our chimney and asks to see them all of the time
  • loves going to the parks around here and is very proficient at this point of climbing up the stairs and going down pretty much any slide by herself
  • loves going for bike rides with daddy and exploring our new neighborhood
  • is very good at saying all of her little friends' names and even knows most of their mommy's names too
  • can currently wear anywhere from 12 months to 2T clothing. it just depends on the brand and item. She wears 4.5-5.5 shoes. she has tiny feet for her height
  • she has a sense of humor and will say the wrong words to a song because she knows it's funny, and even though we taught her to say that jesus lives in her heart, she lately has been saying he lives in her nose
