Yesterday morning we left for our babymoon/6th anniversary celebration. Our goal was to get away one last time before our lives drastically change and to just enjoy time as the two of us and RELAX.
We started off our morning by having a delicious breakfast at Mimi's Cafe and then headed up to Beverly Hills to the SLS Hotel to sunbathe at the rooftop pool. The weather wasn't looking that great during the beginning part of the drive, but by the time we got there it was beautiful, sunny and 75 degrees. We were pleased. We spent the majority of the afternoon laying out in the sun, reading and chatting with one another and then enjoyed a fantastic sun-induced nap before getting ready to head to dinner.
I really had fun getting all dressed up for a nice meal as I have not felt particularly beautiful being 30+ lbs heavier than normal in the past few months. I even curled my hair which is something I can't remember the last time I have done. We ended up choosing to have dinner at a restaurant called XIV by Michael Mina, which was recommended by the hotel concierge. It was an excellent recommendation and we both really enjoyed a leisurely, relaxed and romantic night out.
The next morning we slept in until 9:30am which for us is pretty impressive. Thank you God for blackout shades in our hotel room! It stayed pitch black which I am sure helped us both sleep in, along with the fact that we didn't have Chloe walking on our heads to wake us up at 7:00am on the dot like she does every other morning! We both know our days of sleeping in are limited and could really end any day now, so we really relished our time being able to do that.
Overall the weekend was exactly what we were hoping for and we're glad Laila waited to arrive for us to be able to have this time together. The SLS was a really chic hotel but unfortunately we forgot to bring our camera so we have no pictures to document our weekend :( Oh well.
Lastly, I would just like to say how excited I am that today is August 1st, which means we are officially in Laila's birth month! She could come any time but we KNOW she will be born in August. Can't believe it's FINALLY here. :) Come on baby girl...any time now!
