Laila's First Week Home

We've been home for a week now and are loving every minute of it.

I will post Laila's birth story later this week after we have our post-natal visit with our Doula. She was keeping a time line for me and I want to make sure I have all the details in place before posting.

So far our days consist of breastfeeding, diaper changing and watching our precious little girl nap. She has been a feeding rockstar from day one and gained 2oz at her first pediatrician appointment this past Thursday (she left the hospital at 7lb 9oz so she was up to 7lb 11oz at her checkup).

She has spoiled us immensely with her sleeping habits as she typically goes from 11:30/midnight until 4:45am before needing to be fed and then will sleep again until 7:00am or later. We have been swaddling her every night and think that is what is keeping her so content. We call her our little burrito. She is the cutest when we unswaddle her in the morning and she just stretches and yawns and wiggles for a few minutes.

We have ventured out of the house a few times so far, mostly just for walks to Starbucks or the beach. She loves her car seat and the jogger and tends to fall asleep quickly on the ride.

Our only other adventure was Laila's first play date with her friend Hayley. Laila was not sure about her new friend leaning on her...they don't know it yet but they are going to be great friends :) They are already coordinating outfits!

She has had many visitors, at the hospital and home.
Here are just a few:

Other milestones of the first week:

Met her big sister Chloe at 3 days.
Chloe is not sure what to think of this new addition to our family but seems to be handling the change quite well.

Had her first bath at home at 5 days. She did great!

Rolled from tummy to back at 6 days.
Fluke? Probably. But still, a Mom's gotta brag...

Her cord stump fell off at 7 days.
She has a beautiful little belly button!

Precious daddy/daughter time often.

Learned how to surf. She is a California girl after all.

Being super cute all the time.

There's so much more I could post but I'll leave you with this for now.
I gotta go feed my kid.

Phew, so glad you posted something! I was having to rely on your mom and Collin on Facebook for a while. Luckily they are good picture takers :) Here are my comments:

- 'the burrito' is so cute; I wish someone would wrap me up like that when I sleep!
- the pictures and comments about the 'play date' made me laugh :)
- definitely a genius rolling over at 6 days; I'll send my statistics and economics books over so you can get a head start.

... and more mommy/daughter pictures!
