Between the hours of 10pm and 7am I had:
- dealt with a fussy baby who was up every 1.5-2 hours
- changed an almost blowout around 3am
- woke up to find my milk had leaked everywhere in bed because i forgot to wear nursing pads
- got peed on while sleepily changing Juliet's diaper in bed
- got spit up all over after nursing her
- found out my husband wasn't feeling well so he slept in while I went downstairs to deal with the girls
Unfortunately, Laila decided she was going to be a complete fuss pants for most of this trip. So much for trying to have a nice Mother's Day brunch. She did rally a bit after getting some food in her though (and being bribed with an ice cream sundae).
After we got home and the girls napped, we had a nice afternoon outside in the backyard. During their naps, Collin gave me my Mother's Day gift from him and it made my whole day right again :)
DIAMOND EARRINGS!
After we put Laila to bed, Collin prepared a delicious meal on our new grill for my mom and me (and him). He shopped all by himself and prepared filet mignon with a lemon hollandaise sauce, and grilled tomatoes stuffed with couscous, feta cheese and kalamata olives. Yum!
Our night ended with cheesecake that we brought home from the Cheesecake Factory. All in all it turned out to be a pretty good day :) Unfortunately for Collin and the girls the bar has been set pretty high for next year!
*Disclaimer: I really am not complaining about having to deal with any of these things. I love being a mom with all my heart and I love EVERY aspect of motherhood. I love everything that being a mom entails and I feel so blessed that God has entrusted me to take care of my amazing girls.
