19 Months and Baby Va

The bug is 19 months old today and no, I can't believe it.  Feels literally like yesterday that i was posting her 18 month stats.  I guess that's what happens when you are super busy unpacking into a new house and trying to get things ready for baby #2 to arrive.
Anyway, she gets cuter and smarter by the day...and also more sneaky and mischievous. She can be quite the stinker when she wants to be, but she can also be the sweetest thing you've ever seen. Her vocabulary is growing by the day and her current favorite words/phrases are "reach", "safe", "careful", "help", "tomorrow", "see you soon", "please {insert name}", "bless you" after someone (or she) sneezes, and "heavy" (whenever something is hard to carry or hard to do, it's "heavy"). She can finish the ends of sentences in the books we read to her and fill in a lot of blanks in songs.  Her current favorite book is an iPad version of the 3 Little Pigs and she can say "chinny chin chin" and "blow house down".

In other news, we traveled to Seattle this past weekend to see my brother, sister in law and their new addition, baby Svea (or baby "va" as Laila calls her). Thanks to this precious little girl, Collin became an uncle, I became an aunt and Laila became a cousin!  We were so happy to be able to spend time with all of them, even though it was a super short trip.  Collin and I left their home feeling prepared and excited about the upcoming arrival of our new little one, which is good!

We had a fabulous time catching up with the new parents and venturing out into rainy Seattle for dinner, coffee and some frozen yogurt.  Laila was very sweet with the baby and understood (for the most part) about needing to be gentle with her.  She gave her lots of kisses and soft head rubs :) It was fun to see my little brother in action as a dad and see how lucky baby svea is to have such great parents!

we were lucky to get an extra seat for her.

I love all the pics. I sure wish she could have gotten frequent flier miles for all she has flown in her short life. She is one blessed little girl. Svea smiling with Collin is precious!

Your blog is great! The backyard with all the critters and flowers brings back so many memories when we lived in CA Laila is a doll in every picture. You keep her dressed so cute. Love you all and pray for you four.
