After going to Jo-Ann Fabrics to buy material for Laila's car seat cover, I decided that I wanted to take up crocheting again and make a blanket for my baby girl's nursery.I learned how to crochet the first time when I was young. Nanny used to crochet big afghans all the time, and she taught me how to chain stitch and make a potholder or two. I then took it up again in college when my roommate Katy decided to learn because she wanted to make me a blanket as a wedding present. I still haven't gotten that blanket. Kate? You remember? I'm still waiting! While she was attempting to make my blanket I decided to make scarves. I made one for myself and then a few as Christmas presents for Collin and other people. He never liked his. Thought it was too scratchy. I am not sure it made it to California in the move :( Then I took it up again maybe a year and a half ago when my sister in law Courtney decided to make it a hobby. I went for the blanket this time and made a green and orange one for our friend's baby Abigail, who was still in her mommy's tummy at the time. Now, I have decided to take another stab at it and make a gift for my little one. :)
My next new "project" is taking yoga classes. I went into YogaWorks on Main Street today and found out that while they do not offer pregnancy classes, they do have two instructors who are trained in pre-natal yoga and can modify poses for me as necessary. My goal is to get in really good shape for this thing they call giving birth, which is set to happen in oh, around 111 days from now. I have heard yoga is a great way to strengthen and tone my muscles without hurting my pregnant self. I have been scared to try anything new with all that it took to get Laila to grow in my belly, but my doctor assures me that I should be OK.So,
HOLD ME TO IT!
ASK ME HOW IT'S GOING!
My first class will be on Monday from 3:30-4:25. My goal is to go at least twice a week, with classes that I can attend being offered M, W, F, and Sat, so I have some flexibility as to when I go. Hopefully by the time August rolls around I will have some flexibility in my limbs as well!

Yay! I practice at YogaWorks (up here near my house of course) and have been practicing yoga for quite some time. I think its just a super great idea and so glad you're doing it! It will definitely give you lots of strength, openness, endurance, flexibility, etc. Too bad we don't live closer to practice together!

Court, go right ahead. I forgot how to do it and can't figure it out. Maybe we can try together when you are out here next month...
