After a long 2+ year wait, we are finally at the end of the first trimester of a pregnancy. For those of you who don't know, we decided back in October of 2007 that we wanted to start a family. We found out we were pregnant in June 2008 only to miscarry that precious angel at 10.5 weeks into the pregnancy.
This was our first "peanut" at 6 weeks and 10 weeks:
After another long wait we tested positive for pregnancy again in May 2009 only to miscarry about a week later. We discovered that it was considered a "chemical pregnancy" which means that there was a fertilized embryo that never attached fully and therefore couldn't continue to grow.
Since it was taking so long for us to get pregnant each time and our lack of success in sustaining a pregnancy, we finally decided to seek help from a fertility clinic. After a number of months of testing and procedures, we have finally conceived!

We are anxiously anticipating the arrival of this baby on August 14, 2010 (which happens to be our 6th wedding anniversary as well). We are taking one day at a time and have enjoyed learning about each milestone this baby reaches weekly. I'll try to update blog with baby bump photos and any new news we learn along the way.
We are so thankful to God for answering our sincere and heartfelt prayers to become parents. He always has a plan for our lives, and while we haven't so much enjoyed the 2+ year wait, we have learned to put all our trust in Him and believe that He knows best. We know He has put us through this journey for a reason and His timing is perfect.
We would love you to be a part of this pregnancy through prayer. Please pray for the health of this little one as well as peace and patience for us as we await his/her arrival.

Congrats!! What a journey that is beginning. You will never know anything like the pure joy that comes from being a parent. Sooooo Exciting! Not the question is will you wait to find out the sex when it is born or ultrasound it early? ;-)
